Fashion designing is essentially about designing garments. Fashion designers use their creative abilities and sense of style to use various fabrics and techniques to create work of art. Fashion designing is science and art both. The designers need to know the science or the techniques behind creating garments.
The designers take inputs from the clients and put a fine piece together. But that is not always the case. Sometimes they design outfits and showcase them on ramps and it becomes fashion. Thus marketing and popularizing a particular couture is an integral part of the career in fashion design.
One may specialize in contemporary or traditional or bridal wear or ready to wear line, men’s wear etc.
